WHAT YOU COLLECT
Start with the wearer’s view.
Head-mounted and chest-mounted cameras capture hands, objects and the steps of a task. They can also record bystanders, readable labels, personal paperwork and screens. Define which information needs protection and which visual signals your training task needs to retain.
Cooking, cleaning & assembly
Evaluate people entering the workspace, faces in reflections, badges and paperwork in the background. Include clutter and close-range hand motion.
Reading & device use
Test readable text on phones and monitors. Screen text redaction depends on device detection and OCR; a display filling the frame or shown at an angle needs separate evaluation.
WHAT TO MEASURE
Privacy coverage and task utility.
Sample across camera wearers, locations, lighting and tasks. Include rapid head turns, motion blur, occlusion and identifiers visible for only a few frames. Keep evaluation recordings separate from footage used to tune the configuration.
Measure missed identifiers and unnecessary masks by category. Review whether redaction obscures hands, manipulated objects or required text. If retaining model performance is a requirement, test it with your downstream task; visual inspection alone cannot establish that.
